COAST

COAST

COAST is an AI-powered energy optimization platform helping U.S. seaports become more sustainable and energy independent. It connects renewable power generation, efficient storage, and real-time energy management to turn existing infrastructure into actionable insights. Using AI-driven analytics, COAST unifies data from smart meters, shore power systems, refrigerated containers, cranes, and more. The platform delivers real-time visibility, predictive recommendations, and measurable climate outcomes, enabling ports to cut emissions, reduce fuel waste, lower costs, and boost productivity through smarter, data-driven decisions.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Ports rely on outdated, environmentally harmful practices, like using GASoline-powered vehicles and machinery for daily operations. Despite the growing need for electrification, they face uncertainty about where to begin and how to transition effectively. This lack of direction and infrastructure hinders their ability to adopt sustainable solutions, resulting in continued carbon emissions and inefficiencies in port operations.

SOLUTION

SOLUTION

To solve the growing challenge of energy inefficiency at seaports, there needed to be a system that could work with existing infrastructure, gather accurate data from both fuel and electrical systems, and present that information in a clear, actionable way. The goal was to reduce waste, improve operational decisions, and help ports better utilize the sustainability measures already in place, all without requiring expensive new installations or complex training.

Concept

Concept

COAST is built on the idea of empowering seaports to do more with what they already have. By connecting existing fuel and electrical systems to a lightweight, sensor-based intelligence layer, the concept focuses on enhancing visibility, improving efficiency, and turning fragmented sustainability efforts into measurable progress.
